the mystery.

1. Who is responsible

GENFORGE is currently a pre-launch independent studio based in The Hague, Netherlands. Until the company is formally incorporated, the data controller for this website and the I SAW THAT! private beta is Frederic Esteves, operating GENFORGE.

2. The GENFORGE website

The current website has no user accounts, contact form, advertising tracker or product analytics.

Like most websites, the hosting and network infrastructure may process basic technical request data such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps and requested pages. This is used to deliver the website, keep it secure and prevent abuse, not for advertising or behavioural profiling.

If you email GENFORGE, we receive the information you choose to send, including your email address and message. We use it to reply and manage that conversation.

3. I SAW THAT! private beta

I SAW THAT! uses information only for the features you choose to use. Depending on the permissions you grant, this may include:

• activity and workout information;
• sleep, heart-rate, recovery and fitness information;
• optional nutrition or body metrics where supported;
• running goals, preferences, check-ins, perceived effort and other information you enter in the app;
• connection and authorisation information needed for an approved third-party data source.

The current private beta does not use health or fitness data for advertising and GENFORGE does not sell that data.

4. Apple Health

I SAW THAT! reads supported Apple Health data only after you give permission for the relevant data types. The current private beta is read-only and does not add or change data in Apple Health.

Health permissions are controlled by you through Apple Health and iOS settings. You can change or revoke them at any time.

The current private beta stores its app records locally on the device and does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics.

5. Garmin Connect

Garmin Connect support is planned, but it is not currently available. It will only be enabled if the integration is approved and ready.

If Garmin Connect support is introduced, access will require your express authorisation. GENFORGE will use Garmin device-sourced data only for the features you choose, will not sell or rent it, and will remove Garmin credentials and data that must be deleted when you disconnect, revoke consent or request deletion, except where the law requires retention.

Data submitted to I SAW THAT! is submitted to GENFORGE, not Garmin. Garmin is not responsible for data submitted to I SAW THAT! This notice will be updated before any material change to Garmin data handling becomes available to users.

6. Why we process personal data

Where the GDPR applies, GENFORGE uses personal data only when there is a valid legal basis. Health and fitness data that qualifies as special-category data is processed on the basis of your explicit consent. Other data may be processed to provide a feature you asked for, respond to your request, or for the legitimate interests of operating and securing the website and service.

You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

7. Storage and retention

Data is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose described in this notice, unless a longer period is required by law.

Current I SAW THAT! app records are stored locally on the device. Local app data can be removed using the app's reset controls or by deleting the app, subject to how iOS manages local application data. Health permissions can be revoked separately through Apple Health or iOS settings.

Routine email enquiries are normally kept only while they are useful for the conversation or follow-up, and are reviewed for deletion when no longer needed.

8. Service providers and transfers

GENFORGE may use service providers for website hosting, domain services and email. Those providers may process limited personal data on our behalf as needed to provide their services.

If personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, GENFORGE will use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism where required by applicable law.

9. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and in some cases to receive a portable copy of it.

You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise a privacy right, email frederic.esteves@genforge.nl.

If you are in the Netherlands or the GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. The Dutch supervisory authority is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

10. Automated coaching

I SAW THAT! can use the data available to it to generate coaching suggestions and training guidance. These suggestions are intended for health and fitness guidance and do not make legal or similarly significant decisions about you.

11. Security and changes

GENFORGE uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data and connection credentials. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so access is limited to what is needed and the product is designed to minimise unnecessary data collection.

If the way GENFORGE collects, uses, stores or shares personal data changes materially, this notice will be updated.
